Our Bark Mulching Service begins after our spring clean ups are completed, usually around the first of May. If you prefer your mulch beds be top dressed with mulch prior to May 1st, please call your account manager to make those arrangements.

- Weed all areas receiving fresh bark mulch.
- Edge all beds to be mulch as needed. Edging of beds may be performed by hand or by machine, depending on the condition of the lawn along the edge of the mulch bed. Edging will be performed in a manner to remove a minimal amount of turf as possible.
- Edges shall be disposed of off site unless arrangements have been made between the client and contractor to dispose in an appropriate spot on the property.
- Edging shall be performed to create a crisp, clean edge that frames in the landscaped beds and provides a neat and continuous appearance.
- If there is excess mulch in any areas of the bed that may effect the growth of trees, shrubs, perennials or ground covers, the excess mulch shall be removed prior to adding a new layer.
- Mulch shall be pulled back from the trunks of ornamental trees to expose the root flare.
- New mulch shall not be spread up against the trunks of ornamental trees in order to avoid bark rot.
- Mulch shall be spread consistently and evenly as possible to not exceed a layer of 1.5 inches.
- Bark mulch may be spread by hand, by rake or by motorized bark mulch spreading equipment.
- Any foot prints made by the crews in the new mulch or on turf areas shall be removed prior to completing the job.
- All grass edges shall be raked clean of spilled bark mulch prior to completing the job.
- All hard surfaces shall be blown clean prior to leaving the site.
- Inspection of the job by the account manager and submission of the signed Quality Assurance Report.
