Monthly Garden & Mulch Bed Care
Monthly Garden & Mulch Bed Care
Our monthly garden bed maintenance occurs between the Bark Mulch Service and Pruning Service and Pruning Service and Fall Clean Up Service. Mulch beds are weeded along with the Summer Pruning Service, however, an additional fee may apply for weeding services on accounts that choose to opt out of the early summer maintenance visit. Active weeds that grow in mulch and garden beds generally germinate when soil temperatures reach 60 degrees and begin to flourish during higher temperatures during the hot summer months. Our crews will perform the following maintenance procedures when maintaining mulched beds.
- Mechanically hand-pull weeds from mulch beds and garden beds.
- Cultivate, or “fluff”, the mulch in high exposure garden areas, generally around foundation plantings and as needed.
- Remove sticks, twigs, leaves and/or tree/shrub litter by lightly raking mulch and garden beds.
- Refresh bark mulch that has been washed out by heavy rains, animals digging in beds or foot traffic.
- Pull bark mulch away from the beds edge to maintain a neat and even appearance.
- Inspect plant material for any abnormalities or insect/disease infestations.
- All hard surfaces shall be blown clean prior to leaving the site.
- Inspection of the job by the account manager and submission of the signed Quality Assurance Report.
